Hi everyone!
Playing catch up this week and just starting to sift through all the beautiful images from my trip to Texas.
Last week, I flew down to Houston to mentor another boudoir photographer. It was a successful week and I couldn’t be more proud. Meet Jamie Pogue, owner and founder of Top Drawer Boudoir.
I first met Jamie back in December as a client. She flew up to Michigan to have a boudoir shoot with me (talk about a humbling experience). It’s one thing to have clients choose me…but to fly across the country was such an amazing feeling.
She said, “I just got home from the airport and wanted to let you know how impressed I was with you and Jill. Your professionalism is outstanding and it is obvious that you both love and have a true talent for what you do. On a more personal note I wanted to thank you. After the last 2 1/2 years of two major surgeries thyroid cancer and skin cancer I started to doubt I would ever feel sexy again. After seeing my pictures today all I could do was cry. You captured a spark in me that I thought I had lost. And for that I am in truly grateful. What started out as a gift for my fiancé has turned into a gift for me. Thank you so much!!”
I didn’t know it at the time, but she was a hobby photographer. She like many of us, started shooting friends and family portraits, senior pictures and even a few weddings. She told me after her trip to Michigan, she fell in love with boudoir; how it made her feel and think (she never felt more beautiful and confident). So when Jamie asked me to mentor her, I didn’t hesitate. She had the passion, the skill and the sweetest heart. I knew she would be an amazing entrepreneur.
I’m excited to tell you more about Jamie in the weeks to come. Multiple blog posts to follow on Jamie and our cramazing time in the Woodlands, Texas!
Please follow Jamie on Facebook at Top Drawer Boudoir. Her website is coming soon.
Thank you Jaime. xoxox
Here is a little sneak from our sessions this week; more to come. We shot 6 women in 4 days. This was the last shot, on my last day of the trip and just happens to be my favorite.
