Ashley here… the newest member of the VaVa Voom Boudoir team! And I’m writing a blog post about… myself. There’s a first time for everything, right? =) But I really have to share a bit about my experience with Jess and VaVa Voom because I know how it made me feel, and I want you to have the chance to feel the same way.
30 is a big birthday. I knew I wanted to do something special for myself and with my husband’s birthday the following month, I knew I wanted to do something special for him, also. A session with VaVa Voom would be the perfect gift to myself for hitting this milestone in life, and a little black book album would be the perfect gift for the handsome hubby’s birthday. I contacted Jessica, booked my session, and kept it a surprise for months! Side note: that was WAY harder to do that I originally anticipated.
The morning of my birthday came and I took a trip to the Plymouth studio to meet with Bridgett for my hair and makeup. Can I just mention how she is seriously a rock star?! We chatted about the look I was going for, and within minutes I was feeling at ease. By the time she was done with her magic, I already felt like I could handle anything. I did what any typical 30-year-old would do… I took a few selfies in the dressing area. ; )
Once the session got started, it only took Jessica a minute to make me feel completely comfortable. She directed me with each pose, and I could feel myself own it more and more as the session progressed. By the time I left, I felt like I could conquer the world (and thanks to Bridgett, look like a total badass doing it!)
I wanted to share a few of my favorites from my session, and encourage you to consider doing this. Maybe as a surprise for someone else. Maybe as a couple. Or maybe… maybe just for you. Because you deserve it. You deserve to feel like the most amazing version of yourself. After two children and over 10 years with my husband, I wanted to remind myself that just because I am a wife, mama, daughter, sister, business owner, creative soul, dreamer, lover, and fierce… I am still ME.
And not only am I ME, but I am now an official Associate Photographer and Studio Manager for VaVa Voom Boudoir. EEK!
